2011 NRPL One Loft Race List of Birds w/ Peds (updated 6/21/11)

Here is a list of all the babies I sent out to one loft races this year with their pedigrees. I have nothing to hide and I get asked many times over the year “What is that bird out of?” – well, now you don’t need to ask as here they all are. I am sure that some guys will look over this list at the end of the year and say “Well that pair stunk it up! Why would NRPL keep that pair?” There are many factors that I weigh when deciding to keep a bird or not and I try to look at as much information as I can in evaluating the “success” or “failure” of that bird in the breeding loft. I do tend to be very harsh and critical in judging my birds and tend to eliminate birds too quickly, which I actually think is a good thing more often than not. I think most people hang onto subpar or just plain bad breeder’s way to long. Also, I think it is very fair to say I am not one of those guys that believe every youngster off a certain pair is a “Super!” In fact, I think MOST youngsters off EVEN THE BEST PAIRS are going to be subpar birds – anyone who tells you different is just not being honest with you or themselves. If I can get two good birds off a single pair per year – that is a great pair of birds!!

One more comment – I am sure that many of you are looking at the number of birds I sent out to one loft races and are thinking “Man, that guy sends out a lot of birds!!” You know what – you are right!! I do send a lot of birds out to one loft races and I must admit that sometimes I think I am crazy. Fortunately, the last 3 or 4 years I have actually made a few bucks each year in the one loft racing game so I keep “upping the ante” per se and keep sending more out. I am probably going to have a bad year one of these years and it will definately hurt, but until them – I am going to keep enjoying the one loft game at a fairly high level. I do want to say that anyone who thinks they can make a good chunk of change in the one loft game is a fool – I just want to break even or make a few bucks. Unless you win the SCMDPR or the new AIC race – you are only going to make a few bucks if you do very well in the races. My goal every year is simply to break even in one loft races, which is very tough to do in my opinion and I count myself a bit lucky over the last 3 or 4 years!!

So with all of that as a backdrop, here are all of the birds I sent out to one loft races in 2011 – (click on the bird to see the pedigree pop up). If I haven’t put a pedigree up then it likely means the bird was raised off my widowhood race team and I haven’t put a pedigree in my software program. For those I will just list the parents band numbers and most of them will have both parents somewhere on my site under birds that have won something for me.

6/21/11 Update - Another updated list with Team 7 sent to Sun City.

6/15/11 Update - Here is an updated list with the addition of the Beaver Race, Red Rock Race and the 3 birds I sent to Sun City in the final June shipment.

5/31/11 Update - Someone asked me to provide an easier to navigate page showing the pairs and the list of youngsters sent out and where they went.  Here you go - this is as good as it is going to get!!  Please note that the birds band numbers are hypertext links that if you click on them you will be taken to the pedigree for that pair!!!
