2011 Breeding Pairs (updated 1-5-11)

Here are my breeding pairs for 2011.  As always, the next breeding season creates an excitement for me that really is a huge portion of what I enjoy about pigeon racing.  The prospects of breeding that next super bird or big money winner in a one loft race is what keeps me trying harder and harder in this crazy sport of ours!

Yes, it is true!  NRPL loft has TWENTY (20) pairs for the 2011 Breeding Season.  So what happened to the guy that talks about liking to keep a small loft and few breeders?  Well, here is what happened - ALL FOUR HENDRIKS BIRDS ARE COCKS!  So instead of having one or two pairs come out of that group of imports I ended up with four cocks, which makes four pairs.  That takes me from 15/16 to 18 pairs.  So how did I get the other two pairs to get to 20 pairs -- let's just say I got an early Christmas present!  I stumbled across 8 imports that were in the USA that were out of the strain/line of pigeons that I have been trying to accumulate.  I just couldn't pass it up as I got all of them for a very good price and didn't have to wait two months to get them!!  I did sell a pair of these imports and that left me with 2 cocks and 4 hens.  That is why I had to shuffle and update a few pairs of pigeons.   What is a guy to do???  Look at Pair #'s - 4, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and you will see what awesome pigeons I was able to get!  I just received them and I must say they are truly some very special pigeons!

I should mention that I do have some very close friends that have some NRPL pairs that are not included above.  These two friends each have 2 or 3 pairs of NRPL birds and they will send me birds off these pairs to race, send a few to one loft races and they will race them in their own lofts.  I am not including those pairs above as they are all what we are calling "test" pairs.  In 2010 Young Birds the Champion Bird in the UVI club was out of one of these test pairs and flown by Wayne Whitelely so just because we are calling them "test pairs" doesn't mean they aren't good birds.
