Nemelka Racing Pigeon Loft (NRPL) is a small backyard loft that focuses on quality not quantity. Joe Nemelka is the individual behind the name and has enjoyed racing pigeons since 1982 when he started racing pigeons. I raced as a youth until 1990 and then due to school, work commitments and family didn't start racing pigeons again until 2002 and I have been racing consistently since that time.
NRPL does not focus on strains or famous names, but seeks to acquire the best performance pigeons available. The base of the NRPL pigeons is Van Moorsel Janssens originating from the well know Champion Loft of Bert Braspenning in The Netherlands. To that base, I have added many peformance pigeons from the following strains: Janssen, Aarden, Vandenabeele, Koopman, Reynaert, Bosua, Van Dyke Kannibaal, Claessens, Van Loon and others.
I do not seek to sell pigeons as pigeons are simply a backyard hobby for me and I focus on winning both the local club races and the many one loft races I participate in around the country (and the SCMDPR).
The sole reason I have placed this website up is to provide a medium whereby I can make additional friends in the pigeon sport throughout the country and the world. I do travel quite extensively -- even to Europe and Asia -- for both personal and professional reasons and would welcome the opportunity to get together and talk pigeons.
